Cantaloupe Nectar

With moderation
Drink

Cantaloupe nectar is low in purines and contains no alcohol. However, as a fruit-juice–type beverage, it is a concentrated source of fructose (about 39 g of total sugars per cup), which can raise uric acid levels. Meta-analyses show fruit juice consumption is associated with a 28% increased odds of gout. The protective fiber of whole fruit is removed during juicing. Whole cantaloupe is a far better option for gout management.

Your feedback
Good for you

Low in purines, alcohol-free, contains vitamin C that may modestly help lower uric acid.

Bad for you

Concentrated fructose content can raise uric acid; lacks the fiber of whole fruit to blunt sugar absorption.
